Privacy policy

ConCost is a construction takeoff and cost estimating platform. This policy describes how we handle personal information and project data when you use our website and application.

• Account information — name, email address, and password (stored hashed) when you register.
• Project data — drawings you upload, measurements, BOQs, estimates, material rates, and export files you generate.
• Technical logs — IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error reports needed to operate and secure the service.
• Support messages — if you contact us through the contact page or email.

Public guest pages (landing, features, demo) do not require an account and do not load your project data.

• Provide the service — display drawings, run scale calibration, queue OCR jobs, generate BOQs, and produce exports.
• Authenticate you and keep your session secure.
• Respond to support requests and fix bugs.
• Improve the product in aggregate — for example understanding which file formats fail conversion so we can fix them.

We do not sell your drawings or estimates to third parties.

When you request OCR, drawing files are processed to extract text for label suggestions. Suggestions are shown to you for confirmation; we do not automatically change your takeoff based on OCR alone.

DWG and similar files may be converted to a viewable format in a background job. Processing happens on infrastructure we control for the purpose of running the service.

Project data is stored while your account is active so you can return to your takeoffs and estimates. If you delete a project or close your account, we will remove or anonymise associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for security, legal, or backup purposes.

You can export BOQs and estimates to PDF or Excel at any time while your account is active.

We share data only in these limited cases:

• Infrastructure providers that host the application and database, under confidentiality obligations.
• When required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
• To protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the service.

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on production systems. No online service is perfectly secure — please use a strong password and do not share your login.

• Access and export your project data through the application.
• Update account details from your profile settings.
• Contact us to request account deletion or to ask what we hold about you.

ConCost is a business tool for contractors and estimators. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy as the product grows. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. For privacy questions, contact us.
